North Korea faces sudden COVID outbreak

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is lashing out at his government's response to the coronavirus pandemic. North Korean health officials have reported at least 50 deaths, and they say more than 1.2 million people are experiencing fever-like symptoms. Scott Snyder, a senior fellow for Korea studies at the Council on Foreign Relations, spoke with Tanya Rivero and Vladimir Duthiers about whether North Korea is capable of dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak of this scale.

Investigation into vaccine manufacturer

A congressional report reveals Emergent Biosolutions discarded or destroyed the materials for almost 400 million COVID-19 vaccine doses and hid the evidence from government inspectors. Chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, Rep. Carolyn Maloney of New York, joins "CBS News Mornings" to explain the findings of her committee's investigation into the government contractor. She also discusses the impact this has on Americans, especially as Congress has yet to approve supplemental funding for COVID-19.
